Daniel
Brasher - Instructor, Spokane WA. A Certified instructor
for the NWTCCA. Daniel has studied with Harvey Kurland, Andrew Dale and
Jeff Herda since 1993. He has taught classes since
2000 through the Institute for Extended Learning. Daniel also studied Tae Kwon
Do from Mr. Bill House in Wyoming beginning in 1980. Daniel competed in the
1997 Southern California T'ai Chi Ch'uan Championships. He won 2nd place for

Donna
El-Din,
Instructor, Spokane WA. A level one certified instructor for
the NWTCCA. Donna received her level one instructor rating from Sifu Kurland.
Donna has studied with Jeff Herda and Daniel Brasher
for over 9 years. She is retired Chairman of the Department of Physical Therapy
at Eastern Washington University. She feels it has enriched her own well being,
and also her teaching.
Sifu
Harvey Kurland - Chief Instructor, nei chia: t'ai chi ch'uan, ch'i kung, pa-kua
chang, hsing-I ch'uan. He started teaching in the Inland Northwest in 1985
and founded the NWTCCA Chapter in Spokane. Sifu Kurland was Certified
as a Chief Instructor (Sifu) in 1976 by the Chinese Tai Chi Chuan Association
and by Grandmaster Tchoung Ta-tchen. Prior to studying with Grandmaster Tchoung,
Kurland studied with Kuo Lien Ying (Kuang Ping Style), Liang Tsung
Tsai (Yang style) and TS Ying (Wu style, Hsing-I, pa-kua). He also studied pa-kua and ch'i kung with several other
masters. He has studied nei chia
(nei jia) on Guam, Taiwan
and Japan. Mr. Kurland taught tai chi classes at North Idaho College, SCC
including PE classes, the Seniors program and for the
Institute for Extended Learning. Other classes taught by Mr. Kurland include
exercise physiology, nutrition and wellness. He was the "Wellness
Director" for the Community Colleges of Spokane and Editor of the CCS Wellness Newsletter.
Mr. Kurland was interviewed on TV about the Wellness Program and was producer
of a video on the CCS Wellness Program. He has produced several videos on T'ai
Chi Ch'uan and was the consultant for the "No Sweat" aerobic exercise
video. Kurland now teaches in Southern California at University of California
at Riverside and Loma Linda University. He returns to Spokane yearly for

Jeff
Herda - Instructor, Lebanon, OR.
Teaching for over 20 years for the NWTCCA. Jeff taught
through the Institute for Extended Learning in Spokane Washington. Mr. Herda studied t'ai-chi ch'uan
with Sifu Harvey Kurland starting in 1985. Mr. Herda
teaches the Tchoung form (Old form of Yang style - symmetrical method). Jeff
competed in the 1995, 1996 and 1997 Southern California T'ai Chi Ch'uan
Championships. He won 2nd place for Yang Style Instructor's Form and 3rd place
Instructor's Pushing Hands in the 1996 UCR-NWTCCA Championships. Jeff also won
1st place Yang Style Instructor's Form in the 1997 California Championships at

Kevin
Harms - Instructor, Spokane WA. A Certified
instructor for the NWTCCA. Kevin is a LMT and High Touch acupressure
Practitioner. He teaches tai chi and chi kung classes
in Spokane, Washington. Kevin started learning t'ai chi ch'uan
with Harvey Kurland in 1985 and has been co-teaching with Jeff Herda. He competed in the 1997 Championships and defeated
several t'ai chi ch'uan instructors including a well

Bernie
Elmendorf - Instructor, Spokane WA. A Certified
instructor for the NWTCCA. Bernie studied tai chi chuan for 16 years and
began studies with Harvey Kurland starting in 1985. He has taught classes since
1999 through the Institute for Extended Learning. Bernie currently leads the
